Hi! I'm Jayne!

I started Boreal Babe in 2015 when I became frustrated with the fit of clothes found in regular clothing stores. My oldest daughter was 6 months old at the time and nothing seemed to fit her fluffy cloth bum. I had been sewing off and on since I was 8 years old, so I had a basic understanding of clothing construction. I borrowed my mom's serger and got to work! Sewing became a form of relaxation for me. In the evenings and at nap time I was able to escape to this place of creativity. Once my friends and family saw what I was making, they encouraged me to sell - and that is how Boreal Babe came to be! 

Currently I am the one sourcing fabrics, designing, sewing, packing, and shipping. My number one goal has been and will always be - to create a high quality product - and I can be confident in maintaining those standards by doing all of the sewing myself! All of my items are compliant with Canada's guidelines on clothing manufacturing and you can be confident in knowing that what you are buying is a high quality, sustainable, and safe product for you and your babe. 

When I'm not behind my sewing machine or buried in a mountain of fabric, you will find me relaxing and taking life in with my husband and our three girls. We love the outdoors and that's what has led to me to create this nature-inspired brand!
